Nakagawa loves to draw. When she was younger, she had wanted to grow up and become a mangaka. Many of her illustrations are available at her talent agency's profile website. In 2006 she began Shocotan Quest, a series only found at that website. She also became part of the illustrating group Jump Damashii.

Nakagawa is also a huge fan of Bruce Lee and kung fu movies in general, even owning a pair of pink nunchucks. Nakagawa mastered Cantonese and would visit Hong Kong with her mother frequently, and even got to meet Jackie Chan by chance during one of these visits. She drew an illustration of him; this drawing now hangs in Chan's Hong Kong office.

As a result of her father's influences, Nakagawa loves 80s idol music, anime, and old video games. She is considered to be something of a nerd because of it. She has four brothers and one sister, and is extremely close to her brother Brad. When she was at High School, she considered herself a loner and did not have many friends.

She originally wanted to go to University after High School, but could not save up enough money. Instead, she moved to Los Angeles and did various types of work, such as working in a go go bar, posing as a lingerie model, being a race queen and an event companion. She applied for an interview with the company and was accepted.[4] She started modeling as Miyabi for the site Shirouto-Teien.com in June 2005, which resulted in several sets of photographs and a short hardcore gonzo video released in CD-R and DVD-R formats.[7] She was then signed by the S1, an AV company that produces light hardcore pornography, premiering for them as Maria Ozawa on October 7, 2005 with the video New Face – Number One Style (新人xギリモザナンバーワンスタイル).[8] Ozawa remembers that she was so nervous during the filming of her first AV that she could not look the male actor in the face.[3]

At S1, Ozawa subsequently appeared in one original video per month until February 2007. She has also participated in several S1 compilation videos including the company’s entry in 2006 AV Open, a competition between Japanese pornographic studios that aims deciding which studio can produce the highest selling video. The video, Hyper – Barely There Mosaic (ハイパーギリギリモザイク) that featured Maria Ozawa, among other AV idols Sora Aoi, Yua Aida, Yuma Asami, and Rin Aoki won the first place. Maria Ozawa and S1 parted ways in early 2007.[9] Along with Rin Suzuka, Reina Matsushima and Rin Aoki, she moved from the safe, but popular S1 to a new startup company, Dasdas (DAS).[10] On April 25, 2007, Dasdas released the first videos of the company, among which is a video featuring Maria Ozawa. Dasdas videos contain scenes of rape, creampie, urolagnia, enema and physical torture, themes not featured in the light hardcore style of her S1 videos. Her first "interracial" title Multiple Black Rape (黒人輪姦) was released from Dasdas in May 2008.

By the end of 2007, she signed (not exclusively) to Attackers' (アタッカーズ), an established AV studio that specialises in thematic rape pornography.[11] In June of 2008 she changed studios once again, going to the small start-up studio Ranmaru[12] [13] which released her first video with them on July 19, 2008.

Besides adult videos, she has appeared in V-Cinema films, a photobook and several glamour ("gravure") videos. She has also appeared on Japanese MTV,[2] and in Yokohama hip hop group DS455's music video for the song "Summer Time in the D.S.C.".

During a 2007 interview, Ozawa reported that her interest in the AV industry remains high, and her video cabinet contains nothing but AVs. She makes a good living from the industry, living in a mansion (a high-class apartment) with a US$1,682-per-month rent, and earning a minimum of $8,000 per month.[4] However, while she says that she would quit the industry only if she is forced to do something else, she would try to prevent a friend from beginning work in the AV industry.[4] Ozawa's family and friends are against her chosen profession, in spite of her apparent pride in her work. When she brought several of her videos home to show her parents, they refused to watch them and told her to get out.[4]

Aida appeared in MAX-A's Female Teacher Hunt series in September of 2004. In her entry in the series, Female Teacher Hunt in Yua Aida: Wet wet wet..., Aida played the coach of a male synchronized swimming team. Yua Aida was born in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on August 12, 1984. Aida was an active girl and involved in many sporting activities during primary and middle school. Tennis was her strongest sport throughout middle school. In high school, she changed her focus on sports to art, an interest she attributes to her mother. Aida reports that exposure to nude models while oil painting helped her to be more comfortable when she began her AV career.[2] After her graduation from high school, Aida began working at a part-time job. At this time she was scouted by an AV talent agency while shopping in Tokyo's Shinjuku neighborhood. Aida debuted in photo layouts in 2003, and made her AV debut in the January 2004 DVD release Pichi Pichi.[3] A co-production of the KUKI and MAX-A labels, Pichi Pichi had Aida playing the role of a student writing a final paper for school on the subject of ecstasy. This concept allowed Aida to perform with a variety of AV actors.[4]

Aida's second video, Your Yua Aida (February 2004) left the fictional narrative format to explore the documentary style common with Japanese adult videos.[5] In her March release, Voyage, Aida played the role of a photographer who fantasizes about having sex with the male models she photographs.[6]

Praudia (May 2004) had Aida in the role of a bar girl competing with other girls for the customers' interest.[7] The same month as this release, Aida starred in an "image" video for the Shuffle label. Featuring nude modeling without sex, the video was titled The Naked.[8] Aida appeared in a similar DVD, Maximum, for Kuki in June, 2004. Dizon released her fourth single entitled "Love Paradox" on March 26, 2008. The Title track is an American like Urban song, and the B-side "Under the same sky" is a mid-tempo ballad. The same day, she also released her fourth photobook, "Pure Leah."

On April 18 it was announced that Leah's song, Under the Same Sky, will be used as the theme song for the Japanese drama, Tokyo Prom Queen. Leah will also make a guest appearance on the show as Naomi, the prom queen from the previous year. [11]

Career

After graduating from high school, Dizon moved to Los Angeles and began her modeling career. While attending college as a film major, Dizon landed a phone company advertisement and posed for the cover features of various import-car magazines. This gained her much attention and a fanbase overseas, predominantly in East Asia. One year after her pictures were posted up on the internet, she already had 2,000,000 hits from search engines.[1] Following the advice of her fans, Dizon sent a demo tape with photographs of herself to a talent agency in Japan and in April of 2006, after being accepted, she immediately moved to Tokyo. The title track is described as a 'grooving, up-tempo dance song' and the single features 2 B-sides: Could you be that one? and Aishiteru～ Love Story (アイシテル～ Love Story, Aishiteru～ Love Story?).[8] The title track, Koi Shiyō was used in a Lotte TV ad[9] while Could you be that one? was used in a PlayStation 3 Ninja Gaiden Sigma TV ad, with Dizon starring in both commercials.

Her third single entitled L・O・V・E U was released on August 8, 2007.

Leah released her debut album "Destiny Line" on September 12, 2007. The CD+DVD Edition contains 14 tracks, 10 of which were penned by Leah herself the single PVs as well as a special album PV "Again and Again". The CD Only Edition contains the digitally-released remix of Koi Shiyō, called Koi Shiyō♪ (yasutaka nakata-capsule mix).
